Cape Cod 2012!
We headed to the Cape for our family vacation this year. It had been 4 years since we were last at the Cape and it was GOOD to be back! I miss the beach...the smell of the ocean...the fresh fish...all of it.
First day on the Cape...unpacked some bags and headed down to the beach...
Dan gets all fancy with the camera...
Emi tests out the sand and decides whether she'll explore...
And Logan...well he's Logan. He strips down to his swim trunks and immediately goes for the water. Mind you it is evening and the weather is cool on our first day...I'm wearing jeans and a cardigan. Logan is crazy!!!
Ahhhh the view from the master bedroom's balcony...life is good...
Second day and Logan takes a different approach...
Emi takes in her surroundings...and Logan is on a mission...
Taking a break...
Back to work...
This day proved to be a little cloudy and misty so we took off and went to a playground...this playground is AWESOME. Its part of an elementary school, in Falmouth, and it has a miniature version of the Nobska lighthouse!
Emi testing out the boat...
And checking out the local real estate...
And then since we were already in Falmouth, we decided to check out a local farm for some strawberry picking. There was slim pickins...but we didn't let that ruin a fun activity. Yum, the strawberries were delicious! Later that night we enjoyed a bunch of cut up strawberries on vanilla ice cream. YUM!
The kids enjoyed our constant bike rides. We had purchased a bike trailer before we left on our trip and it was a very smart purchase. We went bike riding DAILY (often several times in a day) and this let us enjoy longer than usual bike rides. The kids would pack snacks to enjoy along the way.
Emi, looking very much like an ad for Cuffy's...
The kids enjoyed the local children's museum. There was SO much to do and the best part was, kids were still in school, so it was pretty quiet. The kids had a ball on the pirate ship, dressing up, doing puzzles, making music, reading, etc etc...
We met up with my mom's BEST friend from high school, Betsey. This was taken at her parents Cape house...unfortunately, I spent so much time talking that no other pictures were taken...
The weather gets warmer and we spend more time at the beach, relaxing...
And getting buried...the kids were ALL about this. I was fine taking the pictures (since being buried is a nightmare of mine!)
Its always so nice to see the kids playing together...
And another day...this little girl is getting sassy!
Poor Dan...our beach supplier carrier...
Looking like a movie star...
And enjoying her 'seat' in the sand that Logan made for her...
And then the bed that he made for her...
Another day...
Playing together again...how nice...
Hmmm what are they up to...
Oh ok...they are attempting to make a pool...
'B' hat time!!!
Goodbye cottage! We sure are gonna miss you!!!
After the Cape, we spent a day visiting with friends and hanging out in Boston...then it was all about the Southwick Zoo!
The kids got to feed animals...
And ride rides...
The best part was catching up with friends...
