Its the end of the year!!!

Since it is now New Years Eve, I figured I'd end 2011 with actual 2011 photos...so we can begin anew in 2012! Enjoy!

Remember the countdown calendar I created for the kids? Well, they loved each and every day that we counted down. I gave them treasure hunts to find their goodie of the day, clues, actual goodies, movie nights, ice cream parties and more. We all had a ball! It also got the kids up in the mornings for school...because they wanted to open their box before I had to leave for work!

Dan took the kids to see Santa. As you can see, Emi was asleep and had no clue what was going on. Even after (last photo) I'm not sure if she knows where she is or who is next to her.

We got our Christmas Tree! We tried a new place this year and found our tree in record time - about 3 minutes! :)

As per tradition, everyone opens a new ornament, each year, and these new ornaments are the first to adorn our tree. The kids pose with their zoo animals, here...and you can also see the results of our finished tree!

The kids had fun making a faux (made out of graham crackers) gingerbread house...I'm not sure what part was more fun for them...decorating, while munching on the treats...or eating the finished house, the next day!

The kids also helped me make gingerbread men (and other shapes) cookies. This was fun! Both kids were involved this year and the cookies came out pretty good (tastey!).

Christmas Eve we had asparagus risotto, artichokes and crab legs. Mainly based on Logan's request. Emi enjoyed her first artichoke and loved them (especially dipping and re-dipping in butter!)...she was pretty freaked out by the crab legs...that is, until I took the crab meat out of them and she fell in love! :)

Christmas morning...the kids are ready to see what Santa left them!

As they enjoy their presents, they also enjoy each other. I LOVE it when they love each other like this.

And the big gift of the year...for Logan...his very own car! I sent him on a scavenger hunt for this and once he found the prize, he hopped in and stayed in for hours! We had to slow him down to let Emi in, because she, too, wanted a ride in the new car! As much as we had hoped for a white Christmas, it was nice that the kids could enjoy this car BEFORE the spring!

Thats it! A fun and full month...Dan and I took the week off to hang with the kids in between Christmas and New Years and we've been relaxing, playing, and taking it easy. Here's to the end of 2011...and a new year in just a few hours. Cheers all!
