July and August...
Here we are in August, still enjoying the summer, though its FLYING by rather quickly...hard to believe September is just around the corner...Here's some of what we've been up to...
Emi is VERY much into her lovies, these days. She has a pink floppy bunny and a VERY soft white dog (which came from France) and she walks around, hugging them, constantly. Its so very cute. She also has a soft doll, named baby Stella, who she calls 'Aiya' as she can't pronounce 'L'. She sleeps with all 3 and lights up whenever she sees them.
We visited the family camp a few times this summer, so far (and hope to get back out there before the cool weather sets in!). Emi had a ball sitting in the water (she didn't want to go any further) and playing in the sand. Logan got in and played with a boogie (sp) board, but was much more content with someone hanging on to him.
Since then, we signed him up for a swim class at the Y, and I have to say, he's come a LONG way. He didn't want to put his feet in the water, the first class...and in the end, he was jumping in (as long as his floaties were on him and the teacher was there to catch him). He's still anti-getting his head wet, but we made progress, and I'm so very proud of him. He really liked the class, so we'll be signing up him again, so he can get comfortable in the water.
Here are my little firecrackers on the 4th. All decked out in their red, white and blue.
We went blueberry picking, locally, and picked a TON of blueberries. Emi ate everything she picked (look at the photos...her hands were CONSTANTLY in her mouth, feeding herself the berries she picked), and Logan ate some and put some in the buckets. We walked away with 2 full buckets...which, sadly, 2 weeks later, were all gone...but they were DELISH while they lasted!
We took the kids to play mini golf, which was fun. Emi had never played before, so this was a treat, for her. She was just as happy plopping the ball into the cups, while Logan tried to actually hit the balls into the cups. It was cute watching the two of them.
Emi recently found a love for the sandbox and sand, anywhere. The other night, she got into the sandbox, with Logan, and they had a sand fight. What a MESS. As you can see in the picture, Emi is COVERED in sand from head to toe. I've never seen so much sand in a child's hair!

We went to Glimmerglass state park where the kids had a blast in the sand and in the water. Emi got in the water and LOVE LOVE LOVED it to the point where we are considering signing her up for swim classes too (Mommy/Daddy and Me). Unfortunately the trip was short lived as 2.5 hours after we got there, a storm rolled in (complete with thunder, lightning, rain and hail), so we headed home much earlier than we had planned. But we had a blast while we were there!
